Miguel Gomez is quickly establishing himself as a unique and rising talent through his current and upcoming projects.
He most recently wrapped production on Season 2 of Guillermo del Toro’s critically acclaimed FX series THE STRAIN. On THE STRAIN, he plays the street-smart Augustin ‘Gus’ Elizade who joins forces with Ephraim Goodweather (Corey Stoll) and Abraham Setrakian (David Bradley) to wage war for the fate of humanity. Last year, the Critic’s Choice Television Awards honored the show with the Most Exciting New Series award. THE STRAIN is scheduled to return this July.
Gomez can next be seen in theaters across the country opposite Jake Gyllenhaal and Rachel McAdams in Antoine Fuqua’s highly anticipated SOUTHPAW. In the film, Gomez plays Miguel Escobar, the rival of Jake Gyllenhaal’s boxer Billy Hope. The film will be released on July 24th by the Weinstein Company.
His previous credits include Carl Franklin’s BLESS ME ULTIMA, as well as THE DOMINO EFFECT opposite James D’Arcy for Oscar-nominated director Paula van derOest. Gomez also appeared as the lifeguard “Ramon” in the critically-acclaimed “Miami” episode of LOUIE.
